Tanwan (HKG:9890) said it acquired a license to sell derivatives of the Garfield movie intellectual property, including toys and figurines, in China, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Tuesday.
Shares of the online games operator gained nearly 1% in midday trade Wednesday.
The license, acquired from Chengdu Mowanka Culture Communication, will last from Sept. 1, 2025, to May 17, 2030, and also cover the Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan regions.
Tanwan said it had also entered a preliminary agreement on a possible Garfield game.
