Teledyne Technologies Inc.'s subsidiary, Teledyne FLIR Defense, has unveiled the SkyCarrier™ platform at the DSEI tradeshow in London. This innovative platform marks a significant advancement in autonomous drone operations for both military and civil applications. Designed to work seamlessly with Teledyne FLIR's SkyRaider® and SkyRanger® unmanned aerial systems, SkyCarrier allows for fully autonomous drone deployment and recovery from land vehicles, maritime vessels, or fixed sites. The system is capable of operating without GPS or constant operator control, making it suitable for missions such as battlefield surveillance and critical infrastructure protection. The SkyCarrier's ruggedized container ensures environmental protection for the drones, while its XL batteries enable extended flight durations. Having been successfully trialed on various maritime and ground vehicles, SkyCarrier demonstrates reliability and versatility for a wide range of missions, including ISR, convoy security, and hazmat operations.
