Energy Fuels Inc. has announced a significant milestone in the production of rare earth elements by confirming that its high-purity neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) oxide, produced at the White Mesa Mill in Utah, has been successfully manufactured into commercial scale rare earth permanent magnets (REPMs) by South Korea's largest drive unit motor core manufacturer. This achievement marks a decisive step in establishing a "mine-to-magnet" supply chain independent of China, as Energy Fuels' NdPr oxide, mined in Florida and Georgia and processed in Utah, has been qualified for use in electric vehicle $(EV)$ and hybrid EV drive unit motors. These motors are expected to soon power vehicles from major automotive manufacturers worldwide. Additionally, Energy Fuels plans to expand its production capabilities by constructing heavy rare earth oxide capacity in 2026, further enhancing domestic critical mineral supply chains.
