Globalstar Inc., a leader in LEO satellite communications, has announced plans to expand its mobile satellite connectivity with the introduction of the HIBLEO-XL-1 system. Filed through France, this system will enhance Globalstar's MSS capabilities by incorporating additional satellites, orbital shells, and frequency bands, including new MSS bands for mobile uplink and downlink. The expansion aims to support Globalstar's mission-critical communication services across various industries. Additionally, Globalstar is investing $1.5 billion in a third-generation mobile satellite system, C-3, which will feature 48 new satellites and approximately 90 ground station antennas worldwide, promising improved user experience through higher power downlink capabilities. CEO Dr. Paul Jacobs highlighted the company's strategic growth in the global space economy, anticipated to reach $1.8 trillion by 2035.
