HSBC (HKG:0005) said it bought back for cancellation over 3.6 million shares from Merrill Lynch International, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Tuesday.
The bank bought 2,185,492 shares from UK avenues, which include the London Stock Exchange, Aquis Exchange, and Cboe Europe, at a volume weighted average price of 10.11 pounds sterling each.
HSBC also repurchased a further 1,473,200 shares from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at a volume weighted average price of HK$106.40 apiece.
