Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Late Afternoon

Consumer stocks were mixed late Monday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) dropping 1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) rising 0.7%.

In corporate news, Alaska Air (ALK) shares fell 6.7% after the company said it expects fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings at the low end of its $1 to $1.40 guidance range.

TKO Group (TKO) shares rose 1.9% after the company said it will buy back up to $1 billion worth of stock through an accelerated repurchase agreement.

Tesla (TSLA) shares climbed 2.9% after a regulatory filing showed that Chief Executive Elon Musk bought about $1 billion worth of the company's shares in several transactions.

Tyson Foods (TSN) shares fell 1.8% after it said Monday that it plans to stop using high fructose corn syrup, sucralose, BHA/BHT and titanium dioxide in its US-branded products by the end of this year.
