STI ranged between 4,331.75 and 4,348.64 throughout the day. It ended the session at 4,338.42, down 5.82 points or 0.13% compared to Friday's close.

In company news, shares of Camsing Healthcare (SGX:BAC) were down nearly 31% at the close as it booked an attributable loss of SG$408,000 during the fiscal second quarter ended July 31, versus an attributable profit of SG$257,000 a year earlier.

Seatrium's (SGX:5E2) shares were down 0.4% as its entity's appeal for an injunction at a Singapore Court to restrain any payment of money under the $126.6 million standby letter of credit in favor of a customer was dismissed.

Meanwhile, Jardine Cycle & Carriage's (SGX:C07) shares were up over 2% after its subsidiary, Danusa Tambang Nusantara, agreed with J Resources Nusantara to purchase 2.3 million shares in Arafura Surya Alam for $540 million.
