Althea Group (ASX:AGH) received binding commitments to raise AU$2.6 million through the issue of about 141.7 million shares at AU$0.018 apiece, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Funds will be used to finance growth initiatives, customer development, and specific capital expenditures, the filing said.

Shares rose 5% in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
