Meta Platforms (META) has approached media companies including Axel Springer, Fox (FOX, FOXA) and News Corp (NWS, NWSA) about licensing their articles for use in its artificial intelligence tools, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
Talks are at an early stage and may not lead to deals, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Meta already has a licensing agreement with Reuters, while OpenAI and Amazon (AMZN) also have similar agreements, the report said.
Meta Platforms, Fox and News Corp. did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
