Blackstone (BX) said Friday that Tim Johnson was named as chief executive officer of its Blackstone Mortgage Trust (BXMT) unit to succeed Katie Keenan, who will become CEO of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust.

Keenan succeeds Wesley LePatner, who served as CEO of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust before passing away on July 28, the company said.

Johnson will continue to serve as chairman of Blackstone Mortgage Trust, Blackstone said.

Austin Pena was appointed as president of Blackstone Mortgage Trust. Pena currently serves as the Blackstone unit's executive vice president for investments, according to the investment firm.

Blackstone said the executive changes are effective Nov. 10.
