RMX Industries Inc. recently showcased the capabilities of its VAST™ (Video Adaptive Systems Technology) platform at the Tough Stump Rodeo 2025 in Alder, Montana. The field event tested communications equipment under challenging conditions, and RMX demonstrated impressive results with its software-based video encoder. VAST™ successfully maintained five simultaneous HD video streams from drones and ground cameras over a single L-band MANET, with each stream operating at roughly 350-500 kbps. It also enabled live drone video streams over a multi-hop, beyond-line-of-sight TrellisWare MANET to support search-and-rescue coordination. These findings highlight VAST™'s ability to deliver real-time video over radio networks, even when satellite connectivity is unavailable or cost-prohibitive, offering a significant advantage in preserving video quality for operators and AI systems.
