U.S. GoldMining Inc. has announced significant advancements in its metallurgical test work program for the Whistler Gold-Copper Project in Alaska. The latest tests have achieved a gold recovery rate of 85.3%, marking a 22% improvement over previous results. The test work employed a combination of sulphide flotation and leaching processes to enhance recovery rates. The company highlighted that the process flowsheet, utilizing proven technology, is crucial to the project's ongoing Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA). The results suggest potential future improvements, including the possibility of increasing gold recovery by adjusting the process to eliminate the pyrite rougher circuit. The project is located 105 miles northwest of Anchorage and is focused on producing marketable copper concentrate and gold doré.
