Energy stocks were declining premarket Monday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.3%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 1.1% lower and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was down 0.3%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.7% lower at $62.23 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.9% to $66.11 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 0.3% at $2.90 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Eni (E) and Commonwealth Fusion Systems announced on Monday that they have entered into a power offtake agreement with a value exceeding $1 billion. Shares of Eni were 0.2% higher pre-bell.
