Minsheng Education Group Co. Ltd. reported its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2024, posting a total revenue of RMB894.8 million. This represents a decline of approximately 17.1% compared to revenue of RMB1,079.8 million in the same period last year, primarily attributed to a decrease in online education revenue resulting from market condition changes during the reporting period. Profit for the period fell by around 56.4%, dropping to RMB49.4 million from RMB113.2 million in the prior-year period. Selling expenses decreased by 44.6% to RMB54.3 million, mainly due to reductions in sales and marketing staff costs and lower promotion and advertising spending for online education. Administrative expenses were down by 18.4% to RMB196.2 million, reflecting effective cost control measures. Other expenses decreased by 62.6% to RMB22.3 million, mainly due to lower impairment losses on financial assets. Finance costs remained relatively stable, reaching RMB67.4 million. The company stated that it will continue to advance the integration of education and high technology, accelerating the application of big data and artificial intelligence in its business to support talent development and enhance digital education services.
