AusQuest (ASX:AQD) started an initial diamond drilling program at its Cangallo project in Peru, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The program is designed to identify hypogene copper sulfide below the current drilling levels and examine geological relationships and controls on the mineralization, the filing said.

Initial assays are anticipated to be received in six to eight weeks, with the third stage of reverse circulation drilling expected to begin in November, per the filing.
