WIA Gold (ASX:WIA) completed a scoping study for the Kokoseb project in Namibia, validating the viability of developing the project, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The study confirmed that the project has an initial life-of-mine of over 11 years, with forecast production from an open pit mine of about 180,000 ounces of gold per year for the first five years, at an all-in sustaining cost of $1,265 per ounce, the filing said.
An environmental and social impact assessment is expected to be submitted in the first quarter of 2026, per the filing.
Shares fell nearly 4% in midday trade Tuesday but earlier hit a 52-week high.
