0740 GMT - Bitcoin rises as it recovers from recent falls. However, it'sat risk of turning lower again in the absence of any major near-term catalysts to propel the cryptocurrency materially higher, Deus X Pay director of trading James Madden says in a note. "The longer bitcoin trades without a defined macroeconomic signal or risk appetite revival, the greater the vulnerability to another 15-20% leg lower," he says. Absent the Fed signalling more aggressive interest-rate cuts or an event that boots risk appetite, the path of least resistance for bitcoin remains sideways to lower, he says.
