General Motors Company $(GM)$ reported an 8% increase in U.S. vehicle sales for the third quarter compared to the same period last year, fueled by strong growth in both electric and gas-powered vehicles. The company set a new quarterly record for electric vehicle $(EV)$ deliveries with 66,501 units, bringing GM's year-to-date EV sales in the U.S. to 144,668-up 105% from the previous year. The Chevrolet Equinox EV emerged as the best-selling non-Tesla EV in the country, while Cadillac secured three of the top ten spots in the luxury EV segment with the LYRIQ (#2), OPTIQ (#5), and VISTIQ (#6). GM's crossovers and SUVs also achieved record Q3 sales, with models such as the GMC Terrain, Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Traverse, and Buick Envista posting their best-ever third quarter results. The company remains on track to lead the full-size pickup market for the sixth consecutive year and the full-size SUV market for the 51st year in a row. Sales for the first three quarters of the year rose 10% to 2.2 million vehicles, marking the company's strongest performance in a decade. Additionally, GMC is on pace for its best year ever, the Chevrolet Trax topped the small SUV segment for the quarter, Buick was the fastest-growing mainstream brand year-to-date, and Cadillac recorded its best Q3 and year-to-date sales since 2013. GM's fleet business, GM Envolve, saw a 20% increase in Q3 sales, driven by demand for its vehicles and OnStar services. Company executives cited strong pricing, low incentives, and robust inventory as key factors behind GM's continued growth and market share gains.
