Experian Faces Limited Near-Term Impact from FICO Changes -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
2025/10/02

1555 GMT - Credit bureau Experian is expected to see limited direct impact from FICO's changes in the near term, Bernstein's Will Kirkness and Filippo Giardini write. U.S.-based analytics software company FICO said it will sell its credit score directly to mortgage lenders directly, instead of offering the score through credit bureaus. That said, lenders can still use the bureaus to access the scores, the analysts say. However, over the longer term, the shift could create margin pressure and weigh on the company's valuation due to regulatory uncertainty and potential changes in market structure. Experian shares are down 4.2% at 3,520 pence. (najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
