The financing, finalized on September 26, 2025, will support approximately 60% of the eligible costs for developing a 721 MW natural gas-fired combined-cycle power generation facility in Chambers County, Texas, within the ERCOT market. The agreement carries a 3% interest rate, with interest payments capitalized until the project reaches commercial operation. The loan matures on September 26, 2045. NRG Energy has also provided a guaranty for its subsidiary's obligations. The deal includes customary covenants, performance requirements, and mandatory prepayment provisions. Commercial operation of the project is required by December 1, 2028, to avoid default under the agreement.
