Microsoft's Xbox Upgrades Game Pass Plans, Raises Ultimate Subscription Rate

Microsoft's (MSFT) Xbox said Wednesday it has upgraded its Game Pass subscription plans and increased the rate for the Ultimate subscription to about $30 a month.

Xbox said existing Core and Standard subscribers will automatically switch to the Essential and Premium plans at the same monthly rates of $9.99 and $14.99, respectively.

Ultimate subscribers will remain in the Ultimate plan but will now pay $29.99 a month compared with the previous $19.99 rate, according to Xbox.

Xbox also said it is adding Ubisoft's Ubisoft + Classics service to Ultimate Wednesday while Epic Games' Fortnite Crew will be included in Ultimate starting Nov. 18 for additional fees.
