US equity futures were higher pre-bell Monday, with futures of technology sector-heavy Nasdaq Composite outperforming other major indices after Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) unveiled a collaboration with Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were 0.2% higher, S&P 500 futures were up 0.4%, and Nasdaq futures were 0.8% higher.

Advanced Micro Devices shares were 33% higher after the company unveiled a collaboration with OpenAI to deploy 6 gigawatts of graphics processing units. As part of the agreement, AMD has issued OpenAI a warrant for up to 160 million AMD common shares, the companies said.

Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude up 0.9% at $65.11 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude 0.9% higher at $61.40 per barrel.
