OPAL Fuels Inc., in partnership with South Jersey Industries (SJI) and the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA), has announced the commercial operation of a new renewable natural gas $(RNG)$ facility in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The facility, located at ACUA's solid waste landfill, captures and processes landfill gas into RNG, offering a renewable, lower-carbon fuel alternative to diesel and conventional natural gas. With a nameplate capacity of 2,500 SCFM, the project is expected to produce more than 650,000 MMBtu-or over 4.6 million gasoline gallon equivalents-of RNG annually. This marks the first RNG project to deliver gas into the South Jersey Gas pipeline system and represents the inaugural collaboration between OPAL Fuels and SJI under their 50/50 joint venture. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for October 2025.
