1035 ET - Brazil's Embraer is talking to authorities in Washington to press the case that tariffs on its exports aren't beneficial to the U.S., CEO Francisco Gomes Neto tells WSJ. "Embraer has been [in the U.S.] for 45 years," he says. "Embraer has more than $3 billion in [U.S.] assets and employs 2,500 people, plus around 10,000 in its suppliers." He estimates the jetmaker will buy $21 billion in U.S.-made parts in the next five years, while exporting $13 billion to American buyers. "So, it is a huge surplus for the U.S.," Gomes Neto says. Embraer has manufacturing in Florida and is building a new maintenance hub in Texas, among other assets. (paulo.trevisani@wsj.com; @ptrevisani)
