Almonty Industries (ASX:AII) filed a notice of application against Pure Tungsten in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

The filing seeks relief for statements made by the Canada-based firm regarding the company, its Sangdong mine in Korea, and the involvement of former independent contractor Tiger Kim, the filing said.

The application asks the Court to stop Pure Tungsten from publishing false or unsupported statements about the company, the filing said.

The company also wanted the Court to order Pure Tungsten to issue a correction to its statement that Kim was a representative director of the Sangdong Mine from 2010 to 2020, and to retract other misleading comparisons between Pure Tungsten's and the company's mineral assets, the filing added.

Pure Tungsten did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares of Almonty Industries fell past 1% and earlier hit an all-time high.
