CHICAGO, Oct 13 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans firmed at several crushing plants in the U.S. Midwest on Monday as the soy harvest wound down while corn bids were mostly steady with a few mixed changes, spot checks showed.

• The basis firmed by 10 cents at a Lafayette, Indiana, crushing facility and by 5 cents at processors in Morristown and Decatur, Indiana.

• The corn basis firmed at an ethanol plant in Union City, Indiana, and an elevator in Cincinnati, but fell by a penny at Seneca, Illinois, on the Illinois River.

• Chicago Board of Trade corn futures ended lower on Monday on pressure from the ongoing harvest while soybean futures firmed as fears eased about U.S.-China trade tensions. GRA/

• CBOT November soybean futures SX25 settled up 1 cent at $10.07-3/4 per bushel and December corn CZ25 ended down 2-1/4 cents at $4.10-3/4 a bushel.
