SMX (Security Matters) plc has announced a collaboration with the European Center for Innovative Textiles $(CETI)$ to advance sustainability and traceability in the fashion industry. The partnership introduces molecular-level traceability technology that embeds unique markers into textile fibers at the manufacturing stage, allowing brands to verify the origin, composition, and sustainability of materials throughout the supply chain. This system is designed to provide brands and regulators with verifiable ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data and support compliance with upcoming EU Digital Product Passport requirements. The technology also enables the monetization of verified sustainable materials through blockchain-enabled tokens, potentially turning sustainability verification into an economic asset.
