The government has released its Wood Energy Strategy and Action Plan and a Statement on Biogas, expressing support for the bioenergy sector and highlighting the importance of diversifying the country's energy mix for long-term energy security.
Mercury NZ (ASX:MCY, NZE:MCY) shares fell after the announcement, which was made by Simon Watts, the NZ Minister of Climate Change and Energy.
