Golar LNG Ltd. has announced the satisfaction of all conditions precedent and customary closing conditions for the 20-year charter of its 3.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) MKII Floating Liquefied Natural Gas $(FLNG)$ unit to Southern Energy S.A. in Argentina. The agreement confirms an $8 billion EBITDA backlog over the 20-year period, equivalent to $400 million in annual EBITDA before commodity exposure and inflationary adjustments. The MKII FLNG, currently being converted in China, is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2027, with operations expected to begin in 2028. The project has received all necessary governmental approvals, including a 30-year LNG export authorization and qualification as a strategic investment under Argentina's Large Investments Incentive Regime.
