Alector (ALEC) said Tuesday its phase 3 trial of latozinemab in frontotemporal dementia caused by a progranulin gene mutation failed to meet its primary clinical endpoint.

Shares sank 47% following an increase in intraday trading volume to over 39.3 million from a daily average of about 1.3 million.

Bgin Blockchain's (BGIN) shares, priced at an initial public offering of 5 million shares at $6 each and debuted on Nasdaq on Tuesday, slumped by 16% on Wednesday, with an intraday trading volume of more than 698,000.

Netflix's (NFLX) shares sank 10% after it reported Q3 earnings late Tuesday of $5.87 per diluted share, up from $5.40 a year earlier but below the FactSet consensus analyst estimate of $6.96.

More than 11.8 million shares traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 3 million.
