The New Zealand Commerce Commission released guidelines requiring telecommunication providers like Spark New Zealand (NZE:SPK, ASX:SPK) to show a monthly average price if it differs from the advertised rate and provide standardized offer summaries to help consumers compare deals, according to a Thursday statement by the Commission.
The guidelines also require providers to clearly disclose early termination fees, which must decrease over the contract period, and to let customers easily check their remaining balance at any time, the regulator said.
Spark New Zealand's Kiwi shares fell 1% in recent Thursday trade.
