Chrysler is recalling nearly 300,000 vehicles in the U.S. over concerns that the radiator fan electrical circuit may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

The recall relates to 291,664 Ram ProMaster vans manufactured for fleet sale between 2018 and 2026, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Saturday.

Parent company Stellantis opened an investigation in July after detecting a trend in fires originating from the cooling fan module in certain Ram ProMaster vehicles. It found that the vehicles may have been assembled with a cooling fan module which is susceptible to premature bearing wear and inadequate fuse protection.

It is not aware of any accidents or injuries potentially related to the issue, it added.

The company will notify dealers this week before beginning to notify owners in November.
