Archer Materials (ASX:AXE) said the new chip layout and readout electronics for its Biochip is close to final product form, and require minor tweaks to fit into a full prototype, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Fabrication of the chip is to start soon, and readout electronics are in the final stages of assembly, the filing said.

Shares of the company rose 4% at market close.
