Premier Inc. has provided recommendations to the U.S. Trade Representative regarding the renegotiation of the USMCA. In its response, Premier emphasized the need for trade and tariff policies that prioritize transparency, clearly defined timelines, and predictability to avoid unintended disruptions to the U.S. healthcare supply chain. The company also advocated for stronger relationships with Mexico and Canada, the promotion of near-shoring and friend-shoring strategies for critical manufacturing, and collaborative solutions to skilled labor shortages.
