Axis Capital Holdings Limited reported record third quarter operating earnings per share of $3.25 and a record diluted book value per common share of $73.82, representing a 14% increase over the past 12 months. Gross premiums written for the last twelve months totaled $9.4 billion, with $7.0 billion from insurance and $2.4 billion from reinsurance. Gross premiums written grew 10% year-over-year to $2.1 billion, with new business contributing $670 million. The company achieved a combined ratio of 89.4% for the third quarter.
