09:53 ET - BCE's mobile onboarding numbers were weak in the third quarter. New monthly contract subscribers, or post-paid, fell sharply by 65% to 11,511. The telecom giant cites fewer sign-ups due to a softer market activity and slowing population growth after the Canadian government brought immigration down to a trickle. TD Cowen's Vince Valentini says BCE "is working hard to focus on quality loading and pricing discipline, as opposed to volume at any cost," pointing to average revenue per unit being down only 0.4%. Still, the numbers were well-below TD estimates, and below Rogers' roughly 62,000 additions, Valentini says. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
