This trend is attributed to ongoing uncertainty around US import tariffs and slower economic growth. However, demand for larger displays is expected to remain strong, especially in the TV and desktop monitor markets, as consumers show increasing preference for ultra-large screens. Reduced production costs, particularly following the end of depreciation for major LCD and OLED fabs, are anticipated to make larger displays more affordable and accessible. Additionally, growth in the foldable smartphone market and mobile PCs driven by AI advancements will contribute to increased demand for display area. Panel suppliers are expected to maximize the use of existing large-scale fabs to meet this rising demand.
