dorsaVi (ASX:DVL) acquired a portfolio of neuromorphic-enabling technology, obtaining an exclusive worldwide license for several inventions relating to embedding neuromorphic processing-in-memory technology, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

A neuromorphic-enabling technology is a computing approach designed to mimic the neural systems in the human brain. The inventions are designed to integrate with the company's biomedical sensor and robotics reflex platforms, the filing said.

Under the deal, the company will issue 80 million fully-paid dorsaVi shares to Technion Research & Development Foundation and Neurofabrica. It will also pay $41,250 upon signing the binding agreement, $110,000 after 12 months of signing, and $123,750 after 24 months of signing.

In the same filing, the company said Gernot Abl will transition from non-executive chairman to executive chairman, effective immediately.

The firm's shares jumped 8% in recent trading on Wednesday.
