0735 ET - Costco is executing its value-oriented strategy "exceptionally well and stands in a league of its own," says Mizuho analyst David Bellinger. Core member trends have remained consistent despite recent discretionary category softness and its member growth is starting to skew younger. The company's extended hours are allowing 10% more capacity per week at the store level, enabling additional sales particularly for its higher-volume locations. The company's wage growth is also moderating even as it maintains some of the best employee retention rates in all of retail, the analysts say. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
