Del Monte Pacific (SGX:D03, PSE:DELM) booked a significantly higher net profit of $16.8 million for the fiscal second quarter ended Oct. 31 from $2.3 million a year earlier, according to a Monday filing with the Singapore Exchange.
Total sales grew 10% to $234.9 million, driven by higher exports of pineapple.
During the period, the company's market share in North Asia increased to 51%.
Shares of the company surged nearly 20% in Monday trading.
