LG Energy Solution (KRX:373220) plans to begin building a production line for lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries for energy storage systems (ESS) at the Ochang energy plant by the end of this year and begin full-scale operation in 2027.
Initial output will start at one gigawatt hour, with capacity to be expanded based on market demand. The project also aims to strengthen the local LFP battery ecosystem, covering materials, parts, and equipment, the battery maker said in a Monday release.
