Malaysian Shares Rebound Amid Mixed Regional Performance

Malaysian stocks erased losses from the previous session to close in the green on Monday, amid a mixed regional performance.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI gained 1.76 points to end 0.11% higher at 1,627.43. The day range was between 1,626.23 and 1,633.84.

In corporate news, Public Bank's (KLSE:PBBANK) profit attributable to equity holders fell to 1.84 billion ringgit in the third quarter from 1.91 billion ringgit a year ago. Shares ended flat on Monday.

Kumpulan Kitacon (KLSE:KITACON) unit Kitacon secured a deal worth 60.8 million ringgit from Sime Darby Property (Lagong). The deal pertains to main building works, including ancillary and infrastructure works of a semi-detached factory in Selangor, Malaysia.

Globaltec Formation (KLSE:GLOTEC) unit NuEnergy Gas (ASX:NGY) has completed drilling and well completion for the TE-B01-003 well in its Tanjung Enim POD 1 contract area in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The well is the last of four planned coal bed methane wells under its early gas sales initiative, targeting initial sales of 1 million standard cubic feet per day. Shares were marginally down on Monday's close.
