Honda (HMC) is recalling 256,603 Accord hybrid vehicles in the US over a software error that could cause a potential loss of drive power, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday.

Due to the software error, the integrated control module central processing unit may reset while driving, causing a loss of drive power, the NHTSA said, adding that the recall covers certain 2023-2025 vehicles.

Dealers will reprogram the software "free of charge," and notification letters are expected to be mailed Jan. 5, the NHTSA said.
