Silver Mines (ASX:SVL) said diamond drilling at the Bowdens silver project in New South Wales returned the largest mineralized intercept drilled at the site, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

It hit intercepts of 116 meters at 245 grams per tonne grade of silver, 0.48% grade of lead, and 0.29% grade of zinc from 75 meters, as well as 34 meters @ 339 g/t grade of silver, 0.70% grade of lead, and 0.82% grade of zinc from 47 meters.

The 13-hole, 2,225.8-meter geometallurgical and geotechnical diamond drilling program was completed earlier in the year. Exploration drilling in the future will focus on infill and extensions to high-grade mineralization, both within the Bowdens deposit as well as on adjacent and parallel mineralized structures.

Its shares rose 8% in recent trading on Wednesday.
