United States Antimony Moves About 800 Tons of Ore Ahead of Winter Shutdown

United States Antimony (UAMY) said Monday it has trucked 50 loads totaling about 800 tons of antimony ore down from Stibnite Hill in Montana ahead of a projected shutdown due to weather conditions.

Material was chosen based on visible stibnite in narrow, flat-lying veins, with the assay results from samples collected by an independent geological consultant and sent to an international lab still pending, the company said.

Early recovery checks suggest flotation at a contract mill should yield concentrate that meets minimum military standards for antimony trisulfide used in primer ignitions, according to the company.

The 800 tons hauled in under 45 days compares with 1,010 tons of smelter feed over the first nine months of the fiscal year at Thompson Falls, of which about 491 tons contained antimony, the company said.
