Information technology stocks rose nearly 3% at midday Thursday, tracking a rally on Wall Street before the Thanksgiving holiday, where the Nasdaq Composite index rose 0.8%.
Megaport (ASX:MP1) completed the acquisition of Latitude.sh. On Nov. 11, the company had agreed to acquire the Compute-as-a-Service company for an upfront consideration of $150 million and a contingent consideration of $150 million, via an AU$200 million institutional placement.
However, the energy sector struggled, falling past 1%. It was the only sector trading in the red.
3D Energi (ASX:TDO), whose shares fell nearly 13%, said a gas discovery was confirmed within the primary Waarre A and secondary Waarre C reservoirs during the Ora formation testing at Essington-1 in the VIC/P79 exploration permit, offshore Otway Basin, in which the firm has a 20% participating
interest.
