China market regulator meets foreign enterprises on fair competition

BEIJING, Nov 27 (Reuters) - China's market regulator met with representatives from Samsung005930.KS, BMW BMWG.DE, Johnson & Johnson JNJ.N and other foreign companies to discuss fair competition and improving the business environment, the regulator said in a statement on Thursday.

China will step up anti-monopoly enforcement in key areas, strengthen fair-competition and merger reviews to create a market-oriented, law-based and internationalised business environment, said Meng Yang, deputy head of the State Administration for Market Regulation.

Other participants at the meeting include officials from BayerBAYGn.DE, Procter & GamblePG.N and IKEA.
