ASOS Rebound Remains Incomplete, Appears Increasingly Complex -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
2025/11/25

1221 GMT - ASOS's weak results show that its recovery isn't complete, AlphaValue analyst Jie Zhang says in a note. For the year through Aug. 31, the London-listed online fashion retailer reported better profitability trends, but a sharp decline in revenue. The group has been pursuing a turnaround plan since fiscal 2022. Visibility on demand and gross merchandise value remains very low, and there is still no clear evidence of a sustained sales rebound, the analyst says. "Against a backdrop of [macroeconomic] uncertainty and cautious discretionary spending, the recovery path appears increasingly complex," she adds. The stock is up 1.8%. (andrea.figueras@wsj.com)
