Shopify Inc. announced that its merchants achieved a record $14.6 billion in sales over the Black Friday-Cyber Monday weekend, representing a 27% increase from the previous year and a 24% rise on a constant currency basis. More than 81 million customers worldwide purchased from Shopify-powered brands during the event. Key highlights include 15,800 entrepreneurs making their first sale on Shopify, over 94,900 merchants experiencing their highest-selling day ever, and the average cart price reaching $114.70. The top-selling countries were the US, UK, Australia, Germany, and Canada, while Los Angeles, New York, London, San Francisco, and Miami were the top cities. Shop Pay accounted for 32% of orders, with a 39% year-over-year increase in sales made via Shop Pay. Cross-border orders represented 16% of all global orders, and 136 million packages were tracked globally on the Shop App.
