Asana posted a wider third-quarter loss as revenue growth was offset by a sharp increase in general and administrative expenses.

The work management platform on Tuesday posted a loss of $68.4 million, or 29 cents a share, compared with a loss of $57.3 million, or 25 cents a share, a year earlier.

Adjusted earnings were 8 cents a share. Analysts surveyed by FactSet were expecting 6 cents a share.

Revenue for the quarter was $201 million, up from $183.9 million a year prior. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $193.7 million in revenue.

Quarterly results were hurt by higher general and administrative costs, which more than doubled to $74.7 million compared with $36.3 million a year earlier.

Asana raised its outlook for the full year, now forecasting revenue between $789 million and $791 million and adjusted earnings between 25 cents and 26 cents a share, compared to analysts' expectations for revenue of $786.3 million and adjusted earnings of 24 cents a share.
